Smiles on GCSE day

There was excitement and pleasure at Chilwell school this morning as GCSE results were opened. Headteacher David Phillips said ”We are so pleased that so many of our students have surpassed their own expectations.We were delighted with the way that this year group focussed on their examinations and today is a day for many of our students to feel proud of themselves.”

Alessandra Iannattone and Emily Deehan were delighted with their results and starting sixth form studies.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Hannah Shepherd, Lucy Snow and Charlie Sharp were another group of delighted students.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Kavita Dattani achieved an impressive string of results, with the top grade of 9 in six of her subjects.
Grace Eden achieved ten GCSEs, with grades of 7 or higher across the board. Hannah Shepherd also achieved double figures of GCSEs at higher grades.

David Phillips praised the efforts of students who had achieved results today - “A number of our students have faced not only academic challenges in school, but also significant personal challenges. Today is a day to celebrate all success, and recognise the determination and tenacity of our students who are determined to seek success.”
