Exciting opportunity at Nottingham Casuals Rugby Club

Following on from the rugby sessions Nottingham Rugby Club have been providing in school for the last  6 weeks we would like to invite students to an exciting opportunity to try out your local club – Nottingham Casuals Rugby Club (which is based at Canalside in Beeston Rylands).

We have opportunities scheduled for Year 7 and 8, Girls and Boys over the next month and would be  delighted to see new players down at the club. 

Year 7 and 8 Girls 

Join us for a festive Girls Rugby taster session at Nottingham Casuals Rugby club on Sunday 17th December from 11.30am until 1.00pm.  

All welcome, no experience needed and the session is appropriate for girls of all fitness levels and  confidence. All you need are warm training clothes, boots, a gum guard and a drinks bottle. We’ll  provide the fun and warm snack in the clubhouse afterwards. 

Please sign up by the end of Friday 15th December by following the link at the bottom. If you can’t make this session then girls training starts again on Sun 7th January 11.30am–1.00pm and weekdays on Thursday evenings from 11th January 6pm – 7.15pm. Everyone welcome. 

Year 7 and 8 Boys 

Students from all schools involved in the Nottingham Rugby taster sessions will form the Broxtowe Barbarians to take on Nottingham Casuals RFC and Long Eaton RFC in a triangular fixture on Sunday 14th January. In preparation all players will attend a training session with our RFU qualified coaching team the previous week on the 7th January. 

This opportunity is open to all abilities and a great chance to learn more about the core values of our  sport – Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship. The details are: 

  • Sunday January 7th 9.30 – 11am - Joint training session with Nottingham Casuals RFC under  12/13 boys squad with food and information afterwards in our clubhouse 
  • Sunday January 14th 9.30 – 11am - Triangular fixture with Nottingham Casuals RFC and Long  Eaton RFC- presentation and match food afterwards. 

Please note players wanting to participate in the fixture on the 14th January must also attend the training session the previous week. All you need to bring is warm training clothes, boots, a gum guard and a drinks bottle. Please sign up by Friday 5th January by following this link at the bottom. 

General notes 

All sessions will take place at Nottingham Casuals Canalside ground in Beeston Rylands and are open to any year 7 or 8 student (don’t worry if they’ve not participated in the Nottingham Rugby taster sessions in school, they are still welcome) 

All students must sign up in advance - we can’t accept  students who turn up on the day. Please also keep an eye on emails and messages in the days leading  up to the sessions in case of last-minute weather dependent changes!
