Barnardo’s (Ukrainian Support): Following discussion with the Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain, we have set up the Ukrainian Support to provide a holistic support service. The Helpline is available to anyone fleeing the war in Ukraine. https://helpline.barnardos.org.uk/ukrainian-support-helpline

Refugee Action:

https://www.refugee-action.org.uk/

“Refugee Action does not exist to work for people, but to work with them and to empower them to take control of their own lives and to influence the issues that matter to them. We want to do far more to shift power to refugees and people seeking asylum.

At Refugee Action, we help people who’ve survived some of the world’s worst regimes. We get them the basic support they need to live again with dignity. Then we help them build safe, happy and productive lives in the UK.

Our vision is that refugees and people seeking asylum will be welcome in the UK. They will get justice, live free of poverty and be able to successfully rebuild their lives.”

Refugee Council:

https://www.refugeecouncil.org.uk/

“The Refugee Council is a leading charity working with refugees and people seeking asylum in the UK. Founded in 1951, following the creation of the UN Refugee Convention, we exist to support and empower people who have fled conflict, violence, and persecution to rebuild their lives here in the UK.

We work with over 13,000 women, men, and children each year who are desperately seeking safety. From the moment refugees arrive in the UK – we are here:

  • We provide crisis advice, mental health counselling and practical support to help people settle and integrate into their new community
  • We are specialists in working with refugee children who arrive in the UK alone
  • We work with refugees and our partners to fight for improvements to the asylum protection system
  • We inspire change in attitudes towards refugees and people seeking asylum – speaking out for compassion fairness and kindness.”
