We have been so pleased to see our students back in school this week. We are already looking forward to Monday and the first time to have our school community back together again after the summer.

Thank you to all of our students and parents for ensuring that the lateral flow testing went successfully this week. This is again a reminder that any positive cases were identified quickly and dealt with swiftly by our team, with contact home and guidance given.
It was a real pleasure to see students again and also to meet our new year seven students. They spent the day with their tutors and I also met each tutor group in a series of assemblies this morning. Our new year twelve were able to complete registration on to their courses and also have their photographs taken. In the meantime the rest of the school had an opportunity to meet with their tutor and prepare for Monday.
Arrangements from Monday 6th September
On Monday, students will arrive at different entrances, as follows:
Year 7 - right hand side of science gate.
Year 8 - left hand side of science gate.
Year 9 - right hand side of main gate.
Year 10 - right hand side of double main gate.
Year 11 - left hand side of double main gate.
Post-16 - side of leisure centre gate
Could I please remind parents who are dropping students off and picking them up by car that they should do so at the far side of the car park near the artificial pitches. Do not drop off anywhere near the bus stop or on this side of the car park.
We have made it clear to students that they are able to wear masks if they wish. These must be face masks and no other face covering such as scarfs. We will continue to provide hand sanitiser at the entrance to the school and to classrooms. In addition, I have made the decision to not hold whole year assemblies at present. Whilst the government advice is that these can take place, I feel it is more prudent to evaluate the impact of the school returning and any rise in cases before we have large groups gathering in the theatre.

These meetings will all be held on zoom. Please test your phone or computer beforehand to ensure that you can use this software. Invitation codes will be sent out on the day of the meeting.
Finally, I want to thank you again for making the start of term so positive. We are ready to start the new term with energy and excitement.
