15th September 2023

We are now at the end of the first full week back and have also held parent welcome evenings for years seven to eleven. Our governing body also met on Wednesday to discuss plans for the year ahead.

Cygnus

This will start next week. We look forward to launching our enhancement opportunities and welcoming students to a wide range of activities. There are a small number of spaces left in a few activities so please use the google form link issued last week if you wish your child to join.

Broxtowe Green festival

We are pleased to promote the Broxtowe Green Festival taking place at Coronation Park, Eastwood on Saturday 23 September, 12-3pm. See below for further details.

Welcome evenings

This week we shared updates on the new academic year with parents. Slides from the evening can be found here.

Music

We offer a wide range of opportunities in music for students to develop their instrumental skills and get involved in band and group activities. Please read the music newsletter that can be found below.

Bike security

If your child travels to and from school on their bike, please ensure they lock it up securely using the bike racks provided. Personal property is not included within our school insurance policy.

Sleep

As we return to a new term, it is important to re-establish effective patterns. A proper night's sleep is essential for children so that they are able to focus during the day. Our SENCO, Mr Slater has located a useful document on sleep. Whilst it is focussed on the issue of autism and sleep it has a lot of useful guidance to help all of our students get the best from their sleep.

WeDuc

A reminder that today is the last day that we will be sending communications via WeDuc. Can parents please ensure that you have downloaded Class Charts via the link that was emailed home last week.

**PLEASE NOTE** Calls may be monitored or recorded for training and quality purposes.
