Admissions

Chilwell School is an aspirational, positive learning community with a belief in equipping students with the skills and knowledge to achieve their personal best. We are an inclusive school and welcome all applications, without reference to ability or aptitude. We are currently oversubscribed for entry in September 2024.

We have a strong Chilwell family of schools with a stupportive partnership programme and our admissions policy reflects commitment to this collaboration.

We will endeavour to provide places for children who do not attend the Chilwell family of Schools provided they can be accommodated within the admission limits.

The published admission number for Year seven in September 2025 is 180.

Applying for a Place in Year seven

All applications for places must be made on the common application form within the timeline for Nottinghamshire’s co-ordinated arrangements.

In-year admissions

We are currently oversubscribed, and our school is full in every year group the main school. If you are making an application under the fair access protocol, this procedure takes precedence over the waiting list. To apply for a place in years seven, eight, nine, ten or eleven or our sixth form then please apply below:

Governors RECEIVED, NOTED and APPROVED the admissions policy 2025-26 and the admission arrangements for 2025-26 were determined in line with the School Admissions Code 2021.

Appeals

If you wish to appeal an admissions decision, you can appeal through the following route - admissions appeals and the NCC documents.

On-time appeals will be heard by

Late appeals will be heard at the same time as online appeals wherever possible or within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged.

As soon as practically possible

Last Date to submit any additional information in support of your appeal

The independent clerk will notify you of this date, which is usually 5 days before the date of your appeal hearing

Decisions will be communicated in writing from the independent clerk, within 5 working days of the date of your appeal
