Welcome to Chilwell School

Share, Care, Believe, Achieve

27th September 2019

We welcomed prospective parents to school this week, with our open evening for students in years five and six.

We were delighted to see so many people and hope that you found the evening informative. The move to secondary school is a significant time in a child's life and so choosing what is right for your child is important. Thank you for all the positive comments we received on the night.

The school was very busy with vehicles on Thursday night and this leads me to another issue regarding picking up and dropping off at school. We would much prefer our children to walk or cycle to school but realise that this is not always possible. We have a large area near the all weather pitch where children can be dropped off and picked up.

The area in front of the school has double yellow lines and a number of signs stating there should be no dropping off or waiting in that area. Unfortunately our staff have had to ask a significant number of drivers to move on to the pick up area rather than stopping in the no waiting area. I do not want any accidents in this area and we have lots of children leaving by foot or by bicycle. If you are picking up or dropping off by car, please do so by the all weather pitch.

Thank you in advance of your co-operation.
