Welcome to Chilwell School

Share, Care, Believe, Achieve

30th April 2021

On Wednesday of this week we held two welcome events for parents. The first was for parents of children joining us in September 2021. We have set up a programme of three meetings with senior leaders as well as meetings with tutors and a range of assemblies and meetings with children. It was good to see everyone. If you have further questions please email us.

The second meeting was to present the transition support we have in place for year eleven students moving into sixth form. Everything we have been doing is driven by the need to ensure that our students can navigate the current situation and give them the skills to move forward. The role of the school is to provide the structure and the scaffolding to support students. I am really pleased in the trust that students have placed in our support and we look forward to carrying this through into next academic year.

I am really pleased that we have appointed a number of new staff this week and this is also another reason to look forward to the new academic year.

Please can I remind all parents to ensure that their children arrive at school with their own mask supply - there have been a number of instances recently when children have arrived without this basic equipment.

Finally, I mentioned last week that we are looking to recruit parent governors to our governing body. Please look out for the information that will be coming out via WeDuc or email regarding this next Wednesday.

**PLEASE NOTE** Calls may be monitored or recorded for training and quality purposes.
